The Tomato Pizza has a rich history that starts with its original location on Fry Street in Denton, Texas. In 1984, Becky and Robert "Ski" Slusarski, opened the doors to what became a beloved spot for students and locals alike. For over 20 years, The Tomato was known as the perfect place for a pizza after class, a quick bite with friends, or a late-night hangout. But in 2007, we faced a heartbreaking challenge—closing our doors after a company bought Fry Street building.
Continuing the Legacy 🌟
After 16 years, it felt like something special was missing from Denton. The Tomato wasn't just a pizza place; it was a community hub, a place where friendships were made and memories were created. So, I decided to bring it back in a new way. As the son of Becky and Ski, I wanted to honor their legacy and continue what they started. That's how The Tomato Pizza food truck came to be, bringing our classic pizzas to the streets of Denton again.
